- Minimum 1 year experience working as a CST.
- Completion of either an accredited surgical technology program, or a military training program in surgical technology.
- Certification requirements:
- The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or The Certified Operating and Surgical Technician (CORST), or other equivalent certification.
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)/CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
