Position Overview

We’re hiring Banquet Servers and Banquet Bartenders to join our growing events team.

This role is perfect for energetic hospitality professionals who enjoy fast-paced events, teamwork, and providing polished service in an upscale yet welcoming environment.

Event schedules vary and include:

• Weddings
• Corporate events
• Private parties
• Rehearsal dinners
• Bridal & baby showers
• Celebration of Life gatherings
• Holiday parties
• Fundraisers
• Community events

Most shifts are evenings and weekends, with some weekday events throughout the year.

Banquet Service Responsibilities

• Set banquet rooms according to event diagrams
• Prepare tables, linens, glassware and place settings
• Welcome guests with professionalism and warmth
• Provide attentive food and beverage service
• Serve plated meals and assist with buffet service
• Clear and reset tables efficiently
• Anticipate guest needs before being asked
• Assist with cake service, champagne toasts and special event moments
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the event
• Break down event spaces following completion

Banquet Bartending Responsibilities

• Prepare cocktails, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages
• Maintain clean, organized bar stations
• Verify guest identification
• Follow Wisconsin alcohol service laws
• Monitor inventory during events
• Provide friendly, efficient service during high-volume periods
• Maintain accurate tabs and payment processing when required

Teamwork

• Work closely with event managers and kitchen staff
• Help ensure events stay on schedule
• Assist wherever needed to deliver an outstanding guest experience
• Represent Smoke on the Water with professionalism at all times

Hospitality experience is preferred, but we will train motivated individuals with great attitudes.

Bartending experience is preferred for bartender applicants.

Wisconsin Responsible Beverage Server Certification (or ability to obtain).
