Low Voltage Technician – Fire Alarm Installation
Location: Florida
Job Type: Full-Time | Long-Term
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
We are currently hiring Low Voltage Technicians with experience installing fire alarm systems for commercial construction projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test fire alarm systems and low-voltage wiring
- Run and pull low-voltage cable through commercial buildings
- Install fire alarm devices including smoke detectors, pull stations, horns/strobes, modules, and notification appliances
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and fire alarm drawings
- Perform device installation, wire termination, labeling, and basic troubleshooting
- Work with conduit, cable tray, J-hooks, and other cable support systems
- Assist with system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Follow OSHA and job-site safety requirements
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Low Voltage Technician, Fire Alarm Installer, Fire Alarm Technician, or similar position
- Commercial fire alarm installation experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and follow installation drawings
- Familiarity with low-voltage wiring and fire alarm components
- Ability to use hand tools and basic testing equipment
- Must be dependable and able to work independently or as part of a crew
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 is a plus
- NICET certification or fire alarm certifications are a plus, but not required for all positions
