Job Description
Location: Hampton Roads, Virginia (Norfolk, Newport News, Portsmouth, Chesapeake)
Job Type: Full-Time | Long-Term Shipyard Projects
Pay Range: Competitive pay + overtime opportunities
We are seeking experienced Welders and Fitters to join our team supporting major shipyard projects in the Hampton Roads, VA area. This is a great opportunity to work on high-profile ship repair, shipbuilding, and industrial marine projects with steady work and career growth.
Welder Duties:
- Perform structural and pipe welding (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux Core, SMAW) on steel and aluminum in a shipyard environment
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Execute proper welding techniques and inspect welds for quality assurance
- Work on naval vessels, commercial ships, and industrial marine structures
Fitter Duties:
- Layout, position, and fit steel and pipe components for assembly and welding
- Use cutting torches, grinders, and measuring tools to ensure proper alignment
- Interpret shipyard blueprints, drawings, and schematics
- Install foundations, bulkheads, frames, and structural parts onboard ships
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of shipyard, marine, or industrial welding/fitting experience
- Ability to pass welding and/or fitting tests as required by the shipyard
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and shipyard safety practices
- Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and onboard naval/commercial vessels
- Current certifications (ABS, NAVSEA, or AWS) a plus
