Position Details
- Title: Electromechanical Assembler I
- Location: Trumbull, CT
- Shift: 1st Shift – Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts
- Pay: $19–$21/hour
- Position Type: Contract/Temporary with potential for permanent conversion
Position Overview
The Electromechanical Assembler I will perform hands-on assembly, testing, and packaging of electromechanical sub-assemblies and finished medical device products according to approved work instructions and method sheets.
This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in electronic/electromechanical assembly, small-part assembly, mechanical and electrical testing, soldering, or similar production environments who is comfortable performing detailed, repetitive work while maintaining high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on fabrication and assembly of sub-assemblies and finished products.
- Build detailed and intricate assemblies according to approved method sheets and written procedures.
- Assemble products containing both electrical and mechanical components.
- Perform mechanical and electrical testing on completed assemblies and finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
- Work with small components using a microscope or magnification when required.
- Utilize hand tools and other production equipment safely and accurately.
- Inspect work for quality, accuracy, and proper assembly.
- Follow established manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements.
- Identify potential production or quality concerns and communicate them to leadership.
- Work independently while also collaborating effectively within a production team.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and assist with daily housekeeping.
- Follow all PPE, ESD, gowning, and cleanroom requirements as applicable.
- Perform additional production-related responsibilities as assigned.
- Work extended hours or mandatory overtime when required to meet production needs.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of hands-on electromechanical, electronic, or similar assembly experience within a production/manufacturing environment preferred.
- Previous hand assembly or assembly-line experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with electrical and mechanical components.
- Ability to assemble small and intricate parts under a microscope or magnification.
- Working knowledge of common hand tools.
- Ability to read, understand, and accurately follow written procedures, work instructions, and method sheets.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Soldering experience preferred.
- Previous medical device manufacturing or assembly experience is a plus.
Work Environment
This position operates within a manufacturing and/or cleanroom environment. Employees may be required to wear PPE, ESD protection, uniforms, and/or cleanroom garments. The position involves repetitive assembly tasks, moderate manufacturing noise, and occasional lifting.
