Welder/Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
Reads and interprets engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate welding specifications. Positions, aligns, fits, clamps, tacks, and welds parts in assigned work area.
Performs assembly work with pumps and sheet metal.
Uses hand tools to shape and cut metal pieces.
Cleans and prepares surface to be welded while maintaining a clean and organized work area, adhering to
safety protocols and guidelines.
Performs TIG welding on sheet metal and stainless-steel components to fabricate high-quality products.
Inspects welds for accuracy and quality as determined by work order specifications.
Utilizes tape ruler, calipers, or gauges to ensure product meets desired standards.
Aligns and fits together fabricated plates, structural shapes and weldments preparatory to assembly; welds
different metals to blueprint.
Identifies and rectifies defects or errors in welding processes.
Maintains and performs routine checks on welding equipment to ensure proper functionality.
Writes routine reports and correspondence and reads operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure
manuals.
Performs and assists with Mechanical Assembler job duties that include plumbing, electrical wiring, painting
and the assembly/dissembling of products for shipping when welding work is not being performed.
