The Physical Therapist Assistant works within a small multidisciplinary team in an outpatient clinic setting, providing support under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist. This role serves a mixed patient population and involves routine use of electronic medical records to document treatment and patient progress.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and mobility support
  • Prepare and maintain treatment equipment
  • Monitor vital signs and ensure patient safety during sessions
  • Document treatments and patient progress in EMR systems
  • Educate patients on rehabilitation techniques and care
  • Communicate effectively with patients and team members
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assistance or related field
  • State Physical Therapist Assistant License
  • Knowledge of patient care, therapeutic exercises, and rehabilitation techniques
  • Understanding of anatomy and physiology
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Effective time management abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Entry-level experience in physical therapy assistance
