Overview

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing functions using standardized tools and clinical observations
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs, focusing on early intervention strategies for pediatric clients
  • Deliver engaging therapy sessions across various settings such as schools, clinics, or community programs with a focus on pediatrics
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators, physicians, and occupational therapists to ensure holistic patient care
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, session notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance your knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to speech therapy
  • Assist in patient education by providing families and caregivers with strategies to support communication development at home

Skills

  • Prior experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of speech therapy techniques and early intervention practices for children
  • Knowledge of physiology and anatomy related to speech production and swallowing processes
  • Proficiency in conducting comprehensive patient assessments and interpreting results accurately
  • Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and families
  • Passion for patient care with a proactive approach to supporting children’s developmental milestones
