Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) Clinician
Job Description
The Youth Development Clinic of Newark is seeing a part-time Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) Clinician to provide psychological services focused on children ages 0-5 and their families. The clinician will utilize individual and family therapy modalities to improve child and family functioning. The clinician should have a demonstrated interest in working with early childhood populations. Support and training will include weekly individual supervision and group consultation with a focus on ECMH theories and concepts and an emphasis on reflective practice. A Masters Degree in a mental health field is required. Supervision for LAC, LMFT, LSW, post-doc psychologist provided. Spanish and/or Portuguese bilingual preferred.
The Youth Development Clinic was founded in 1958 as a private non-profit 501(c)(3) and has since operated in the city of Newark with a mission of meeting the mental health needs of children and families who overwhelmingly reside in Newark and struggle with poverty and associated challenges. YDC’s mission is to provide accessible, high quality, evidence-based, and culturally competent mental health services to children and families in whatever form the family takes. YDC provides mental health services at our community mental health clinic which is Medicaid-licensed to families otherwise unable to access these services.
