Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technician

Location: Madison, WI
Employment Type: W2 Contract – 1 year
Pay Rate: $28.00/hour

Role Overview

BEPC is seeking a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technician to support our client's cGMP manufacturing operations in Madison, Wisconsin. This hands-on position is ideal for candidates with pharmaceutical, chemical, or related production experience who are comfortable working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.


In this role, you will support the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates, operate and maintain production equipment, follow detailed batch records and procedures, and help maintain a safe and compliant manufacturing environment.


Important: This is a temporary position. Candidates interested in remaining with the organization after the contract is completed will need to apply for an available position on a different shift and should discuss future opportunities with their direct supervisor.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary or secondary operator supporting cGMP production of APIs and intermediates.
  • Follow written procedures, batch records, operating procedures, and established manufacturing requirements.
  • Operate production equipment during manufacturing, cleaning, and maintenance activities as required.
  • Consistently follow and actively promote established safety protocols and proper PPE requirements.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized production areas and equipment throughout each shift.
  • Follow appropriate potent compound handling techniques when working with highly potent or hazardous materials.
  • Communicate production status and relevant information effectively through established shift pass-off processes.
  • Identify and correct safety and process gaps discovered through inspections and audits in a timely manner.
  • Participate effectively in a team-based, multi-shift manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and quality within production areas.
  • Provide additional departmental support as directed by leadership.


Qualifications

Education

  • Associate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related life science field; OR
  • High school diploma/GED with applicable work experience.


Experience

  • 2+ years of pharmaceutical, chemical, or related production manufacturing experience.


Required Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read, understand, and consistently follow written protocols and procedures.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and email.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, calculators, and weighing/measuring devices.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with assistance from equipment or teammates as necessary.
  • Willingness and ability to work with highly potent and/or hazardous materials.
  • Ability to properly use required PPE, which may include respiratory protection such as dust masks, half/full-face respirators, or supplied-air equipment; company-issued uniforms; lab coats; disposable coveralls; and hazmat suits.


Contract Details

  • Location: Madison, WI
  • Pay: $28.00/hour
  • Employment Status: Temporary contract oh 1 year
  • Physical: Required
  • Start Schedule: Start dates are planned every two weeks.
