Production/Forklift Operator
Job Description
Madden Industrial Craftsmen is hiring a Production Operator to join a Lead Oxide Processing Mill in Vancouver, WA. This position involves monitoring mill operations, operating a forklift, and maintaining consistent product quality. The right candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and confident working in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
Pay: $22.50/hr
Schedule: Full-time — must be open to swing and graveyard shifts after initial day-shift training.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and adjust mill settings to maintain steady, safe production levels.
Respond to mill alerts and troubleshoot issues quickly to minimize downtime.
Inspect finished product for quality, consistency, and accuracy.
Operate a forklift to safely move materials and equipment.
Follow all safety procedures, including PPE and respirator requirements.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and inspection-ready.
Record operational data accurately and communicate issues to supervisors.
Collaborate with other operators and maintenance staff to improve production flow and efficiency.
What You Bring
Proven forklift operation experience in an industrial or warehouse setting.
Reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable with physically demanding work.
Ability to lift 60 lbs regularly and up to 90 lbs occasionally.
Willingness to work in dusty, noisy conditions while following strict safety and cleanliness standards.
Able to stand, climb stairs, and wear a respirator (clean-shaven) for up to 8 hours.
Must be 18 or older and able to pass pre-employment drug and background screening.
Willingness to participate in periodic blood draws (every 2 months) as part of workplace safety monitoring.
Maybe You Have:
Prior experience in a mill, foundry, or other production environment.
Knowledge of industrial production processes and quality control systems.
Basic understanding of machinery operation or maintenance.
A track record of meeting production goals safely and efficiently.
Work Environment
This position is based in an industrial mill environment with exposure to lead dust, noise, and moving machinery. Strict adherence to all safety policies and procedures is required. This will include wearing full PPE and face respirators. Bi-monthly blood draws for safety monitoring, and regular hand washing and shower at the end of shift.
