Beyond Milestones Therapy Inc. is a Chicago-based, family-owned clinic working with various developmental needs in children, adolescents, and young adults. Some of the populations and diagnoses we work with include but are not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder, speech and language disorders, and feeding difficulties. Our speech and occupational services work to improve clients’ speech skills, communication, sensory processing, fine motor and gross motor skills.

Position Summary

The Occupational Therapist will evaluate, plan, and provide direct occupational therapy services to clients in a clinic setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical reasoning, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a compassionate, family-centered approach.

This is a 1099 position with part-time hours. There is potential to move to full-time as the caseload grows.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations using standardized and non-standardized assessments to identify sensory, motor, and functional needs.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans targeting fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, activities of daily living (ADLs), and self-regulation.

  • Document SOAP notes and progress report in accordance with insurance and clinic documentation standards.

  • Collaborate with caregivers and interdisciplinary team members to support goal carryover and functional success in daily environments.

  • Provide home programs and parent/caregiver training to reinforce therapy strategies outside of sessions.

  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state licensure regulations, and payer requirements.

  • Participate in continuing education, clinical development initiatives, and any necessary team/company meetings.

Education, Licensure, & Certification

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

  • Current and active Occupational Therapist License issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).

  • Current NBCOT certification (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy).

Experience

  • 1+ year(s) of pediatric outpatient experience (new graduates with strong pediatric fieldwork experience encouraged to apply).

  • Understanding of sensory integration, motor development, and play-based therapy approaches.

  • Proficiency with electronic documentation systems (EMRs, EHRs).

  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills (grammar, spelling, punctuation).

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Work Schedule

This is a part-time position in which the Occupational Therapist will be paid per session. All employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis.

Interview Process

1 pre-screen over the phone with the clinic manager (15-20 minutes) and 1 in-person interview with the clinic owner and 1 other staff member in which you tour the facility and discuss the role and your background further in depth.
