Job Description
The Mammography Technologist plays a critical role within the General Radiology Team, responsible for performing mammographic imaging to aid in the diagnosis of breast conditions. Reporting to the Radiology Manager, this role involves operating specialized equipment, ensuring radiation safety, and delivering high-quality patient care without travel requirements.
13 Week contract with the option to extend
Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (06:30 - 17:00)
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for mammography procedures and ensure comfort during imaging
- Acquire accurate mammographic images using appropriate imaging techniques
- Operate mammography equipment and maintain proper function
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols and regulations
- Review images for quality and clarity prior to submission for diagnostic interpretation
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
- Conduct quality control procedures on equipment and imaging processes
- Educate patients regarding procedures and post-imaging care
- Monitor compliance with regulatory standards and departmental policies
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists and the broader General Radiology Team
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in mammography technology
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Mammography Technologist (ARRT R, ARRT M)
- State licensure for Radiologic Technologist
- Proficient in mammography equipment operation and patient positioning
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety standards
- Skilled in image quality analysis
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Exceptional attention to detail and patient care skills
