Machine Operator
Job Description
2nd shift - 2pm-10:30pm Machine Operator (Hardware Installer) needed. The successful candidate will be responsible for proper installation of all pem nuts, standoffs, studs, and all specialty hardware using
various insertion machines and setups.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Works on assignments that are semi-routine to complex in nature where ability to
recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Limited supervision.
MAJOR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
• Responsible for all work processed through hardware insertion
• Installing hardware
• Read and interpret blueprints and instructions
• Understand custom setups on special jobs
• Other tasks as assigned
SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Must have good basic oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must have 2-3 years working knowledge in hardware insertion and blueprint reading
• Must be reliable
• Ability to understand and follow instructions and work with limited supervision
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Sitting occurs up to 60% of the time for brief or extended periods
• Lifting/carrying occurs approximately 30% of the time up to 25 pounds
• Handling/grasping occur approximately 30% of the time
• Some exposure to metal dust occurs as a result of deburring
• Standing occurs up to 40% of the time on concrete floors
• Work is performed in a Sheet Metal Shop. Exposure to noise requires use of
earplugs. Safety glasses are required when performing various job duties.
• Occasional use of forklift is required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• High School graduate or equivalent/some prior experience preferred
• 1-2 years minimum experience in blueprint reading
