We are a busy pediatric ophthalmology practice seeking a dependable, motivated Ophthalmic Technician to join our Miami team. This position is primarily clinical/technician-focused, with occasional front-office support as needed in our small, team-oriented practice.
Primary Responsibilities
%CF; Work up pediatric ophthalmology patients efficiently and accurately
%CF; Obtain patient histories and document medications and relevant medical information
%CF; Perform visual acuity testing and age-appropriate pediatric vision assessments
%CF; Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
%CF; Perform ophthalmic diagnostic testing as trained
%CF; Prepare exam rooms and maintain appropriate clinical supplies
%CF; Accurately document information in the electronic medical record (EHR)
%CF; Assist with patient flow and help keep the physician schedule running efficiently
%CF; Communicate professionally and compassionately with children, parents, and caregivers
%CF; Follow established clinical protocols and practice procedures
Front Office Support
Because we are a small practice, all team members work together when needed. The technician may occasionally assist with:
%CF; Answering phones
%CF; Scheduling or rescheduling appointments
%CF; Patient check-in/check-out
%CF; Insurance verification
%CF; Other basic administrative duties during downtime or as coverage is needed
Qualifications
%CF; Previous ophthalmic technician or ophthalmology experience preferred
%CF; Pediatric ophthalmology experience is a plus, but not required
%CF; Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
%CF; Comfortable working with children of all ages
%CF; Strong computer and EHR skills
%CF; Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to multitask
%CF; Able to work independently and take initiative
%CF; Professional, positive, and team-oriented
%CF; Willing to cross-train and assist in different areas of the practice when needed
Certification is not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who has a strong work ethic, learns quickly, and is interested in growing within ophthalmology.

Pay: $18–$25 per hour, depending on ophthalmology experience and qualifications.
