Residential Assistant
Job Description
Ideal Candidate:
The Residential Assistant has a deep passion for non-profit work and feels aligned with the faith-based mission of Several Sources. This position is responsible for serving the day-to-day needs of our residents.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
· Preparing bedrooms and creating welcome baskets for new residents.
· Assisting residents cook, and meal preparation.
· Assisting residents with childcare and parenting skills.
· Drives residents to and from appointments, food shopping and programs.
· Preparing reports and maintaining documentation, to keep the home running smoothly and professionally.
· Answer lifeline calls to determine callers’ needs and provide support by listening, and providing proper resources,
· Ensures the security and safety of residents, complete regular house check-ins and fire drills.
· Performs necessary shelter duties, including shelter welcome and maintaining a shift log and assisting with the daily needs of the shelter residents.
· Filing incident reports and updating EKYROS.
· In conjunction with the Housing Director and Case Manager, the RA takes appropriate steps to deal with emergency situations with the goal of maintaining the safety for all residents.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintains communication with Director of Housing, Case Manager and Lifeline Coordinator.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
· Knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures and of the principles and practices of a faith -based non-profit organization.
· Must be bi-lingual in Spanish
· License: Driver's (Required)
· Ability to organize and prioritize projects and time management.
· Must be organized and have the ability to multitask.
· Strong oral and communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including; Word, Excel, Outlook.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
