The Role
Now we’re looking for a Project Coordinator who brings that same energy to our Morgan Hill operations team. They are responsible for providing production, project and purchasing support to project teams. It’s a stepping stone to becoming a Project Manager at Pinnacle, gaining experience project by project. As a position in training, they’ll need to listen, learn, be open to feedback and own and learn from mistakes.
The position takes on the purchasing function for their location and adds in PM-type tasks.
They are responsible for rapidly reviewing, processing, tracking, and receiving purchase orders with an established vendor network making sure we are buying the best product, from the best partners, so we can continue to design and build the best stuff for our clients. This individual will perform most of the purchasing for our custom builds in their location providing backup support to the other facilities as needed. They will be strategic in their big picture vision and tactical in the daily maintenance of purchase orders and data management.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the day to day process for purchasing activity including processing POs and inputting all purchasing related data into various systems
- Work with vendor network to provide product training and updates to our project teams
- Manage stocked inventory and cycle counts
- Assist project managers and account teams on sourcing materials and troubleshooting options when items are unavailable
- Communicate with project teams on timing and issues related to their requests
- Work closely with A/P in reconciling received purchases
- Power user of our PECO ERP system, understand the why and how of information flow
- Continue to update and improve an already established Approved Vendor List
- Other duties as assigned
PM-side
- Ensure projects follow their timeline, budget, and implementation parameters.
- Work with Account Directors and Designers and offer suggestions on value engineering
- Work with Lead Builders and Detailers to develop cost effective building solutions
- Facilitate meetings with relevant team members
- Act as information liaison between all team members
- Ensure information on shared project drive is current and relevant
- Use estimate and input from lead builder to ensure the available labor fits the needs of the project
- Regularly report project status to account teams and operations management
- Attend client booth review and note any changes or additions
- Ensure that all post project documents and as built information is correct and archived
- Travel for on-site supervision as needed
Who You Are
- You have a healthy balance of process and administrative thinking alongside working in the murky gray waters of fast paced design and fabrication
- You have three plus years of experience as a purchaser (or equivalent college experience in Business Management/Supply Chain/Logistics)
- You crush MS Office
- You have experience or proven ability to work within an ERP, accounting system. Ability to become a power user
- You’re a strong communication and leadership skills both written and verbal
- Construction, custom wood fabrication or manufacturing experience a plus
- Comfortable in a fast paced environment with short turnaround times
- You have a clean driving record—you may have to run out to pick stuff up
