HVAC Service Technician

H&M Mechanical – Lafayette, Colorado

H&M Mechanical is looking for an experienced, dependable HVAC Service Technician to join our team.

We are a locally owned and operated HVAC and plumbing company serving customers throughout the Front Range. We are looking for someone who can confidently diagnose HVAC problems, communicate well with customers, and complete quality repairs without needing constant supervision.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair residential and light commercial HVAC equipment
• Service furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, rooftop units, mini-splits, swamp coolers, humidifiers, and related HVAC equipment
• Perform seasonal maintenance and system inspections
• Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, airflow, and mechanical issues
• Clearly explain findings and repair options to customers
• Complete accurate service notes, invoices, and job documentation
• Collect payment when required
• Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle
• Properly care for company tools, equipment, and materials
• Communicate with the office regarding scheduling, parts, follow-up work, and job status
• Participate in the company on-call rotation

Qualifications

• Previous HVAC service experience preferred
• Strong HVAC diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• EPA certification preferred
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to safely operate a company service vehicle
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls throughout the day
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Professional appearance and attitude
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, work in attics/crawlspaces, and perform the physical requirements of HVAC service work

Schedule

Full-Time – Monday through Friday

Normal working hours are approximately 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with participation in the rotating on-call schedule.

Service technicians are typically dispatched directly to their first call, with the first customer arrival generally scheduled between 8:00 and 8:30 AM.
