Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Location: Miami Shores Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Job Type: [Full-Time / Part-Time / PRN] - Specifically 11-7am Shift

Shift: [Day / Evening / Night / Rotating / Weekends]

Reports To: [Director of Nursing / Charge Nurse / Supervising RN]


Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at Miami Shores Nursing and Rehab Center. In this role, you will be on the front lines of patient care, providing essential daily support to our residents and ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. As a primary caregiver for our nursing home residents, you will work closely with nurses and the broader healthcare team to deliver high-quality, personalized care. The ideal candidate is empathetic, observant, and committed to treating every resident with dignity and respect.

Direct Resident Care:

  • Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Assist residents with daily tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, and toileting, while maintaining their privacy and dignity.
  • Mobility Support: Safely transfer residents between beds, wheelchairs, and other locations. Assist with walking, turning, and repositioning bedridden residents to prevent bedsores.
  • Nutrition and Hydration: Serve meals, assist residents with eating and drinking as needed, and closely monitor food and fluid intake. Ensure dietary restrictions and preferences are respected.

Clinical Support & Safety:


  • Vital Signs Monitoring: Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
  • Observation and Reporting: Monitor residents for any changes in physical or mental condition, injuries (such as bruises or skin tears), or complaints of pain, and report findings to the supervising nurse immediately.
  • Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitized environment by changing bed linens, disposing of waste, cleaning spills, and adhering strictly to infection control protocols.


Emotional & Social Support:

Companionship: Build trusting relationships with residents, providing emotional support, patience, and companionship to reduce anxiety and loneliness.


  • Communication: Act as a liaison between residents, their families, and the medical staff, communicating effectively while adhering to HIPAA and confidentiality regulations.


Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of resident care, vital signs, and daily activities in the facility’s electronic health records (EHR) system.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certification: Active and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of [State].
  • CPR/BLS: Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a nursing home, long-term care, or assisted living facility is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer skills and familiarity with medical documentation or EHR systems.


Skills & Physical Requirements

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, and safely lift or move residents and equipment (must be able to lift up to [e.g., 50 lbs).
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills and a calm, professional bedside manner.
  • Traits: High level of patience, empathy, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility.
