Speech Language Pathology Assistant
Job Description
The Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) at Speech Therapy Enhancement, Inc. supports licensed speech-language pathologists by implementing individualized treatment plans to improve speech, language, and communication skills primarily in children. Under the supervision of a certified speech-language pathologist, the SLPA assists with in-person and teletherapy sessions, collects client progress data, and adapts activities to meet client needs. This role demands compassion and patience to foster an encouraging environment that promotes client engagement and success, ultimately enhancing clients' communication abilities and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Support therapy sessions under SLP supervision
- Implement individualized treatment plans
- Collect and document client progress data
- Monitor and report client progress
- Adapt therapy activities to client needs
- Collaborate closely with speech-language pathologists
- Conduct both in-person and teletherapy sessions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Current California State SLPA License
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience with speech-language pathology assistance
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
