Communication & Management Services, LLC (CMS) is seeking an organized, analytical, and technology-oriented professional to join our Helena consulting team as an Association & Research Specialist.
This position combines database management, Excel/data reporting, association management, communications, and research with the opportunity to develop professional skills in human resources and management consulting.
What You'll Do
The position will:
- Contact employers and organizations participating in salary surveys.
- Collect, enter, organize, and review compensation and benefits data.
- Communicate with association and board members, job candidates, and survey participants.
- Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets and project databases.
- Perform data-quality checks and identify discrepancies.
- Compile data and prepare tables, charts, and reports.
- Research information for client projects.
- Proofread, edit, and format professional reports and documents.
- Assist CMS consultants with compensation, human resource, recruitment, and management projects.
- Manage and maintain association membership databases and records.
- Prepare membership lists, reports, correspondence, and communications.
- Assist with newsletters, websites, and electronic member communications.
- Support board and committee meetings, including meeting materials and minutes.
More Than an Administrative Position
We are looking for someone with the ability and interest to grow professionally. As skills and experience develop, this position can become involved in compensation analysis, job analysis, job descriptions, HR policies, recruitment and selection, research, client meetings, and other consulting projects. The right candidate could ultimately progress toward a professional consulting role with CMS.
What We're Looking For
Strong candidates will have:
- Strong computer and technology skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with or ability to quickly learn databases and other software.
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Comfort working with numbers, spreadsheets, and quantitative information.
- Strong written communication and proofreading skills.
- Professional telephone and email communication skills.
- Ability to organize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Initiative and ability to complete assignments independently.
- Strong judgment and ability to maintain confidential information.
- Interest in learning and taking on progressively more complex work.
Education or experience in business, human resources, communications, public administration, data analysis, accounting, association/nonprofit management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
Compensation & Benefits
$22.00–$29.00 per hour depending on qualifications, plus paid leave, retirement benefits, flexible working hours, training, professional development, and opportunities for advancement.
