Master Residential HVAC Service Technician (Contract-to-Hire) – Steira Air

Steira Air is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Master Residential HVAC Service Technician to join our team in a contract-to-hire role. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in residential environments, delivers exceptional customer experiences, and takes pride in both technical excellence and mentorship.

We are looking for a technician with 6–7+ years of hands-on experience, the ability to train and guide others, and the professionalism to represent our brand in customers’ homes. Candidates must have their own tools and be available for on-call emergency service rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair residential HVAC systems with precision and efficiency

• Install new heating and air conditioning systems in residential settings

• Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure system performance and longevity

• Respond to on-call and emergency service requests, including after-hours as needed

• Deliver a high level of customer service, clearly explaining issues and solutions to homeowners

• Train and mentor junior technicians to improve overall team capability

• Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate effectively with customers and management

• Follow all safety standards and company procedures

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–7 years of residential HVAC experience

• Strong customer service and communication skills—must be comfortable working directly with customers in their homes

• Proven ability to train and develop other technicians

• Solid understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and wiring diagrams

• Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking abilities

• Must have own tools and reliable transportation

• Willingness and ability to participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service

• Professional, dependable, and self-motivated
