We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations in Charleston, South Carolina. This role will contribute to accurate reporting, maintain reliable accounting records, and help ensure transactions are processed in a timely manner. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across core accounting functions and brings strong organizational skills with a solid understanding of project-based financial activity.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring financial activity is recorded accurately and supported by proper documentation.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain complete and reliable accounting records.
• Manage accounts payable processing, including invoice review, coding, and timely payment coordination.
• Calculate, track, and assist with sales tax reporting to support compliance with applicable regulations.
• Monitor job cost activity and help maintain accurate financial data for project-related spending.
• Support project accounting tasks by reviewing transactions, allocating costs appropriately, and assisting with reporting needs.
• Participate in month-end close activities, including account analysis and preparation of supporting schedules.
• Work with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.

• Working knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable processes and invoice management.
• Familiarity with sales tax calculations, filings, or supporting compliance activities.
• Understanding of job cost tracking and project accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for financial analysis and reporting.
