Job Title: General Production Worker - off shift 19-22/hr

Job Description

Join a dynamic team at a steel alloys company, where you will be responsible for taking incoming products and repurposing them. You will work in various facility areas, including laser cutting, water jet cutting, shipping, receiving, grinding, saw cutting, band saws, sheers, and more. The role requires flexibility to train during the day and work on either the 2nd or 3rd shift. You will operate forklifts or overhead cranes to move materials, build custom pallets for packaging and shipping, and handle tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, removing steel from racks, and preparing materials for shipping.

Responsibilities

  • Work in multiple facility areas including laser and water jet cutting, and grinding.
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials.
  • Build custom pallets for packaging and shipping.
  • Load and unload trucks at the receiving docks.
  • Remove steel from racks and place it on machines using overhead suction cups and cranes.
  • Prepare cut materials for packaging and shipping.
  • Consistently lift and move materials weighing up to 75 lbs.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to use a tape measure down to 1/16th of an inch.
  • Capability to convert fractions and decimals.
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or skilled trades.
  • Willingness to work on 2nd or 3rd shift and undergo training on the first shift.
  • Physical ability to lift and push/pull 75 lbs consistently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in steel, water jet, or laser operations.
  • Experience with forklift and overhead crane usage.
  • Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Recent graduates with a strong drive and motivation to grow.

Work Environment

Work in a midsize alloy company specializing in heat and corrosion-resistant metals, within a brand-new, clean, and spacious facility. Join a safety-driven environment, constantly reinvesting in operations with a 3-shift rotation: 7a-3p, 3p-11p, and 11p-7a. There are 23 openings across 2nd and 3rd shifts, with potential 1st shift opportunities as movements occur. Training is provided on the first shift, with personal protective equipment required, including hard hats, steel toe shoes, arm guards, and ear protection in certain areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maumee, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
