School Psychologist | Juvenile Detention Center

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced School Psychologist to support students within a maximum-security juvenile detention facility. This role is primarily counseling-focused with some assessment responsibilities.

Position Details:

  • Start: ASAP
  • Setting: Onsite at a maximum-security juvenile detention center (with security present)
  • Schedule: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling services to detained youth
  • Conduct psychological assessments as needed
  • Apply trauma-informed care practices in all interactions
  • Support student emotional regulation, coping skills, and behavioral stabilization
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment and educational planning
  • Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with facility staff and educators

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong background in trauma-informed care
  • Calm, compassionate, and non-threatening presence
  • Experience working with high-need or justice-involved youth strongly preferred
  • Comfortable in a secure, structured environment

Qualifications:

  • Valid School Psychologist license/credential
  • Experience in counseling-heavy or alternative education settings preferred
