School Physical Therapist | Portales, New Mexico

In this position, you’ll deliver both direct services and assessments, manage student cases, and collaborate with a compassionate educational team. Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA) are also encouraged to apply, primarily focusing on delivering direct therapy services.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current license as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant in New Mexico (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience working with K-12 student populations preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, families, and educators
• Ability to work independently and efficiently manage a caseload across multiple campuses
• Strong organizational skills for conducting evaluations, maintaining documentation, and completing assessments

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct therapy services to K-12 students in accordance with individual education plans
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to determine students’ therapeutic needs
• Develop and implement effective treatment plans and document progress
• Collaborate with special education staff and other professionals for coordinated care
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise on goals and accommodations
• Maintain accurate records and case management documentation
• Travel between assigned sites to deliver services as needed
