Location: Cary, IL (NW Suburbs - 60013)

Term: ASAP Start – May 21, 2027 (Full School Year)

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday

Caseload: Middle School

We are actively interviewing for an immediate Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) opening supporting middle school students in Cary, Illinois! In this role, you will facilitate clear communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students, their peers, and school staff to foster an inclusive and empowering learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct sign language interpreting services (ASL/PSE) for middle school students during instructional time and school activities.

Facilitate seamless communication between students, teachers, administrators, and peers.

Support student comprehension, classroom participation, and independence.

Collaborate with special education staff and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) team to support IEP goals.

Qualifications

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Educational Interpreting or related field.

Licensure/Credentials: Active ISBE Educational Interpreter Approval (or Illinois IDHHC License).

Skill Verification: EIPA score of 3.5+ OR valid RID certification preferred.
