Bring your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to make a significant difference in students' lives. Two Intervention Specialists are needed to support social communications classrooms, starting as soon as possible and continuing through the academic year.

One position offers a full-year assignment in an elementary school setting, providing a highly structured and supportive classroom environment from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. You'll work closely with two dedicated paraprofessionals and a small group of six students, each with an autism eligibility (AU)—most are non-verbal or have limited speech, and some require support with behavioral needs. For those seeking a shorter commitment, a 6-week maternity leave coverage is available beginning in September in another social communications class.

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification in Special Education
  • Experience or strong interest in working with students with autism, especially non-verbal or limited verbal communication needs
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environments
  • Track record of collaborating effectively with support staff, students, and families
  • Strong organizational and classroom management skills

Duties Include:

  • Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
  • Creating, adapting, and delivering instructional materials and lessons
  • Collaborating closely with two paraprofessionals to support student learning and engagement
  • Facilitating social communication and behavioral growth within the classroom
  • Maintaining regular communication with families and school staff
