Job Description
Step into an impactful role supporting students in a therapeutic day school setting, where you'll provide essential speech-language pathology services from PreK through age 22. As the only SLP on site, your expertise will directly benefit a unique student population—primarily individuals with autism, alongside those with emotional and intellectual disabilities. The supportive environment is housed in a single building, featuring small class sizes for meaningful connections and individual attention.
This full-time contract is available for the entire 2026-2027 school year, including summer school in 2027, but candidates seeking part-time work are also encouraged to apply. Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Speech-Language Pathology license and Professional Educator License (PEL)
- SLP-CCC required
- Experience in a school, therapeutic, or special education environment preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Comfortable serving as the sole SLP in the building
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop individualized therapy plans and document progress
- Work closely with special education teams and participate in IEP meetings
- Offer support and consultation to teachers, staff, and families
- Adapt interventions to meet the needs of diverse learners
