Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing speech-language pathology services in a vibrant primary school setting near Lockport, NY. This full-time position offers the chance to foster communication skills and make a significant impact on the lives of young students throughout the school year. Starting September 8th and continuing through June 25th, you’ll support a caseload of approximately 50 students, primarily within one school building.

Bring your SLP expertise and passion for empowering children to this engaging, collaborative environment. This role highly values professionals experienced with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices and supporting students with autism.

Key Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Valid SLP - CCC and SLP - School credentials required
  • Previous work in a school-based setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on familiarity with AAC devices
  • Background supporting students with autism is highly desirable
  • Enthusiasm for working with a primary student population
  • Skilled in collaboration, organization, and individualizing therapy plans

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide direct speech and language therapy to a caseload of 50 primary school students
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
  • Utilize AAC technology to enhance student communication
  • Assess, document, and monitor student progress, keeping families and staff informed of achievements and ongoing needs
  • Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and school events as needed
  • Keep therapy engaging, inclusive, and adaptive to meet the diverse needs of students
