This full-time contract opportunity supports a specialized ASD Pre-K classroom, serving a small group of 6-8 students each day. Located near Somerville and conveniently accessible from Lowell, MA, the position offers a balanced schedule—staff hours are 7:45 am to 1:30 pm, with students attending from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate proficiency in pediatric and school-based therapy, and excel in collaborative, engaging settings. Your contributions will directly support the communication development and educational success of children on the autism spectrum.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current licensure in Speech-Language Pathology (Massachusetts SLP license or eligibility)
- Background in pediatrics and previous experience with school-based SLP roles, especially within ASD and PreK populations
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster relationships with students, staff, and families
- Experience developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Desire to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, child-centered environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat communication and language disorders in ASD Pre-K students
- Develop and deliver evidence-based therapy, adapting interventions to individual student needs
- Maintain documentation and progress reports in compliance with school and state regulations
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate on IEP goals and implementation
- Support classroom staff with communication strategies and training as needed
