Payroll Specialist
Job Description
We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support accurate and timely payroll operations for an organization in Somerset, New Jersey. This Contract position requires someone who can manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple states while maintaining compliance and employee confidence. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with high-volume payroll environments and hands-on knowledge of UKG platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Process full-cycle payroll for a large employee population, ensuring wages, deductions, taxes, and adjustments are calculated correctly and delivered on schedule.
• Administer payroll activity across multiple states while following applicable tax regulations, wage laws, and reporting requirements.
• Use ADP Workforce Now, UKG Pro, and UKG Ready to enter, validate, reconcile, and maintain payroll data with a high level of accuracy.
• Review timekeeping, earnings, garnishments, benefits, and other payroll inputs to identify discrepancies and resolve issues before payroll is finalized.
• Prepare payroll reports, audit supporting records, and maintain documentation needed for internal controls and compliance reviews.
• Respond to employee and management questions related to pay, deductions, and payroll records in a timely and courteous manner.
• Partner with HR, finance, and related teams to ensure personnel changes, compensation updates, and tax information are reflected correctly in payroll systems
• Proven experience handling full-cycle payroll from data review through final distribution and reporting.• Background managing multi-state payroll with a solid understanding of payroll tax and compliance requirements.
• Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now in a payroll processing environment.
• Working knowledge of UKG Pro and UKG Ready for payroll-related tasks and record maintenance.
• Ability to support payroll operations for more than 500 employees with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in reviewing payroll data, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues efficiently.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage confidential employee information with discretion.
