Make a difference in the lives of students by providing essential occupational therapy services in a supportive K-12 educational setting. This full-time contract opportunity is perfect for a passionate OT or certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) who values collaboration and is dedicated to helping students reach their full potential. Work closely with teachers, staff, and families to create positive outcomes for children and teens ages 5–19.
Key Qualifications:
- Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to organize and manage a diverse K-12 caseload independently and efficiently
- Knowledge of IEP processes, goal writing, and progress monitoring
- Commitment to fostering student independence and adapting strategies to various abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students between the ages of 5 and 19, in alignment with their individual education plans (IEPs)
- Assess, document, and report on student progress while developing therapy interventions tailored to individual needs
- Consult and coordinate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support student achievement and participation
- Maintain detailed records in compliance with school and legal requirements
- Provide recommendations and training to educators and parents to help integrate therapy techniques into daily routines
- Adapt therapeutic activities and materials to meet varying student needs across grade levels
