We’re looking for a dependable Hydro Vac Laborer to support safe, precise utility excavation projects in the field. This hands-on role works alongside a Hydro Vac Operator to assist with equipment setup, excavation support, and jobsite safety while ensuring projects are completed efficiently and responsibly.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with hydro excavation operations using high-pressure water and vacuum systems to safely expose underground utilities
  • Support the Hydro Vac Operator with positioning and handling suction hoses and water lines during excavation
  • Prepare and stage equipment, tools, and materials prior to job start to ensure efficient operations
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas to support safety, productivity, and workflow efficiency
  • Monitor utility markings, soil conditions, and jobsite hazards to protect infrastructure and crew members
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, PPE requirements, and site-specific safety plans
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and securing equipment for safe transport between job sites
  • Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality
  • Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, contractors, and customers on-site
  • Support jobsite setup and breakdown, ensuring all materials and equipment are accounted for and secured
  • Adapt to changing project conditions, timelines, and work environments as needed

What You’ll Need

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and ability to travel between job sites as required
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and carrying 50+ pounds regularly and performing repetitive movements such as bending, kneeling, squatting, pushing, and pulling throughout 8–12 hour shifts
  • Capability to climb in and out of trucks, work around heavy equipment, and maintain balance on uneven terrain
  • Comfort working in outdoor and industrial environments with exposure to weather extremes, mud, noise, vibration, and utility construction conditions while wearing required PPE
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including extended hours, overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on project demands
  • Mechanical aptitude or prior construction, labor, or utility excavation experience preferred
