Desktop Support Supervisor

Location: Union City, NJ (On-Site)

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of its IT support team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring exceptional technical support while mentoring a team of desktop support professionals in a fast-paced educational environment.

The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader with excellent communication skills who is fluent in both English and Spanish and has experience supporting users in a school or educational setting.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of Desktop Support Technicians
  • Assign, prioritize, and monitor daily support requests to ensure timely resolution
  • Provide hands-on desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral support when needed
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and end-user issues
  • Support Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and common business applications
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and workstation deployments
  • Coordinate equipment installations, upgrades, and replacements
  • Ensure IT support tickets are resolved within established service levels
  • Maintain accurate documentation of support activities and IT assets
  • Partner with school administrators, faculty, and staff to deliver outstanding customer service
  • Assist with IT projects, technology rollouts, and classroom technology support

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Desktop Support experience
  • 2+ years of experience leading or supervising an IT support team
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (required)
  • Previous experience working in a K-12 school, school district, college, or educational environment is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Windows 10/11
    • Microsoft 365
    • Active Directory
    • Desktop and laptop hardware
    • Printers and peripherals
    • Basic networking concepts
  • Experience with ticketing systems and IT asset management
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting classroom technology
  • Experience with Google Workspace for Education
  • Knowledge of audiovisual classroom equipment
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus
