Your mission

Deliver safe, reliable, and efficient injection mold performance by maintaining, repairing, modifying, and validating tooling and associated equipment.

Can you...

• Diagnose mold issues and separate process, tool, and machine variables quickly?
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble intricate tooling for preventative maintenance?
• Fabricate/repair cores, cavities, and components using mills, lathes, drill presses, and grinders?
• Verify dimensional accuracy to print with trusted measurement methods?
• Work shoulder-to-shoulder with process and setup technicians to confirm accurate installations?
• Operate an overhead crane and follow established equipment parameters safely?
• Keep meticulous records, manage spares, and coordinate outside services when needed?
• Assemble special tools/fixtures and jump in as a setup mechanic or machine operator/grinder when production calls?
• Spot and report hazards immediately and uphold safety standards in the repair and storage area?

What you’ll handle

• Routine checks, lubrication, and corrective repairs for molds and auxiliary mold equipment.
• Design-driven modifications and improvements to tooling.
• Inventory control of mold spares and timely ordering of supplies/parts.
• Reading and interpreting technical manuals and documentation.
• Team communication and goal attainment, plus maintaining a clean, orderly workspace.
• Regular, predictable attendance and other duties as assigned.

What it takes

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical school credential and/or 2–3 years equivalent technical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on mold maintenance and modification experience.
• Journeyman Tool & Die certificate (required).
• Deep knowledge of injection molding equipment/processes and PVC/CPVC material behavior.
• Fluent in English (read/write/speak); Spanish bilingual is a plus.
• Mechanical/electrical aptitude, high math proficiency, and sharp problem-solving instincts.
• Strong organization, time management, and vendor negotiation skills.
• Comfort working independently or on a team; skilled with mills, lathes, drill presses, and grinders.
• Ability to evaluate new information and apply insights to immediate and future decisions.

Physical and mental requirements

• Up to 12 hours of standing with frequent movement.
• Frequently push/pull/lift up to 100 lbs.
• Frequent bending and full overhead reach.
• Frequent walking; occasional climbing.
• Good bilateral manual dexterity for removing, packing, and measuring parts.
• Above-average math for measurement, estimating, dimensional checks, and process calculations.
