About This Role

The Assistant Teacher plays a crucial role in creating a nurturing environment that supports the growth and development of children. As a member of the team, this individual will contribute to the implementation of a quality educational program and foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff. Key responsibilities include observing and documenting children's interests and progress, communicating effectively with parents and staff, and implementing activities tailored to meet children's needs. This position requires a strong foundation in child development, effective communication, and teamwork skills.



What You'll Do

  • Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling, while maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked classroom environment.
  • Actively engage in activities and ensure smooth transitions from home to child care center, while supporting the daily operations of the center.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents through regular discussions and progress reports, keeping them informed about their child's progress and well-being.
  • Support the implementation of curricula activities and promote participation among children, while adhering to center policies and state regulations.
  • Help children develop essential skills and knowledge through hands-on learning experiences and games.
  • Act as a role model by maintaining a professional demeanor and adhering to the center's standards and expectations.
  • Maintain a professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement and stay up-to-date with industry best practices.


Requirements

  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must clear full background check.
  • Must pass health screening.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • High energy.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Must earn a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential by December 2019.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
