Cemetery Grounds Keeper (Brownsville, TX)

Marathon Staffing is seeking reliable, hardworking candidates to help maintain a clean, safe, and well-kept facility in Brownsville, TX. If you take pride in your work and enjoy staying active outdoors, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll do

• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and stocked facility
• Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, vacuum, dust, and polish interior surfaces
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and kitchen areas
• Collect and dispose of trash and debris
• Replace burned-out light bulbs
• When needed: assist with openings/closings for burials, entombments, and inurnments
• Operate a mower, weed eater, and blower
• Handle and complete work orders related to grave and marker maintenance
• Prepare burial areas (including 25-foot radius preparation) and ensure they are clean and neat
• Follow safety rules and Universal Precautions
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Acceptable driving record and applicable license(s) to operate equipment/vehicles
• High school degree or equivalent
• Ability to communicate effectively with associates, contractors, and client families
• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
• Pre-employment drug test and background required (testing does not include THC)

Work schedule & conditions

• 40 hours per week (typically 7:00 AM–3:30 PM); Saturdays as requested/required
• Work indoors and outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions
• Overtime may be required as needed

Pay & benefits

• $13.50 per hour (may increase upon full-time hire)
