3-Year Territory Manager Development Program

OPPORTUNITY

Stac Material Handling is seeking a motivated, career-oriented Technical Sales & Support Specialist to join our team as part of a structured 3-Year Territory Manager Development Program. This role is designed for ambitious individuals who desire a long-term career in technical sales, project management, and material handling solutions. Working directly alongside a senior Stac Territory Manager, you will gain hands-on experience in every phase of the sales and project lifecycle. You will participate in customer visits, lead generation, cold calling, solution development, estimating, project coordination, installation support, and customer relationship management. Through mentorship, technical training, and real-world project experience, you will develop the skills necessary to advance into a full Territory Manager position.

This unique opportunity provides exposure to conveyor systems, automation, storage solutions, and integrated material handling projects while building the sales, technical, and leadership capabilities needed for long-term success.


PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Year 1: Foundation & Learning

  • Ride alongside an experienced Territory Manager to learn Stac's sales process.
  • Participate in customer meetings, site visits, and project discovery sessions.
  • Learn material handling products, conveyor systems, automation, and storage solutions.
  • Assist with CRM management, lead qualification, and proposal development.
  • Support projects with project documentation and coordination.
  • Coordinate project execution activities including scheduling, communication, and installation support.
  • Complete internal and vendor-sponsored technical training programs.

Year 2: Technical Sales & Project Leadership

  • Manage smaller customer accounts and sales opportunities.
  • Conduct customer site visits, surveys and gather project requirements.
  • Support estimating, quoting, and solution development activities.
  • Coordinate project execution activities including scheduling, communication, and installation support.
  • Develop stronger customer relationships and account management skills.
  • Participate in strategic territory planning activities.

Year 3: Territory Ownership & Transition

  • Independently manage designated customer accounts.
  • Lead sales opportunities from prospecting through project completion.
  • Develop new business relationships within the assigned market area.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in sales, project management, and customer support.
  • Prepare for transition into a full Territory Manager role.

Successful completion of the program will position the candidate for promotion into a Territory Manager position with increased responsibility and earnings potential.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Support & Business Development

  • Assist Territory Managers in growing and managing assigned territories.
  • Participate in customer visits, sales presentations, and facility walk-throughs.
  • Develop new sales opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and marketing leads.
  • Maintain CRM activities, customer information, and opportunity tracking.
  • Assist in preparing quotations, proposals, and presentations.
  • Support customer follow-up activities and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Technical & Project Support

  • Participate in project discovery and conceptual design meetings.
  • Assist with gathering customer requirements and developing application solutions.
  • Support estimating efforts and supplier quote evaluations.
  • Assist in developing system layouts, drawings, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate project schedules, deliverables, and communication between customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Support project installation, commissioning, and customer training activities.
  • Help ensure successful project execution and customer acceptance.

Professional Development

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in Engineering, Business, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Recent graduate or 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Internship experience in engineering, manufacturing, sales, automation, or project management.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or related design software.
  • Exposure to material handling, conveyor systems, robotics, warehouse operations, or industrial automation.
  • Previous customer-facing or sales experience.
