Maintenance Manager
Job Description
Job Summary
The Maintenance Manager plans, schedules, supervises, and directly participates in the repair,
maintenance, and installation of mechanical equipment, production machinery, and facility systems.
Using the Enterprise IQMS production control database, the Maintenance Manager tracks scheduled
preventive maintenance through work orders generated during the daily production schedule when
plastic molding machines and auxiliary equipment are down or available for service. This role is
responsible for maximizing production equipment uptime and coaching, mentoring, and developing
Maintenance Technicians to support uptime goals, complete special projects, maintain 5S standards,
and assist with other initiatives as needed.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for training and development of staff, including: estimating personnel needs, reviewing time cards, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
- Ensure preventative maintenance, repairs, and projects on all equipment and facilities are completed in compliance with schedule.
- Maintain, add, and update preventative maintenance schedules in IQMS.
- Perform Installation, programming, or repair of automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
- Accurately trouble shoot and repair issues that arise during production and be able to respond quickly.
- Manage spare parts, Identify, and purchase replacement components.
- Use problem solving tools to verify true root cause of maintenance issues to reduce unscheduled breakdowns.
- Monitor PM’s for effectiveness to reduce repetitive unscheduled breakdowns.
- Manage corporate KPI’s to ensure equipment uptime and continuous improvement.
- Willing to travel to other facilities as required.
- Actively participate in creating and maintaining a safe working environment while improving plant operations.
- Maintain and manage EMS systems for maintenance and facilities.
- Install/transfer equipment as assigned/necessary.
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
- Other projects/duties as assigned.
