Experienced Optician

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. We are a 60+ year old, well established Optical in need of a full-time experienced Optician. As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in assisting our patients with selecting frames and lenses that meet their vision needs and style preferences. You will work closely with our Optometrists to ensure each patient receives the best care possible.

Duties:

• Assist customers in choosing eyeglass frames and lenses based on prescription requirements and personal preferences
• Interpret and verify optical prescriptions to ensure accuracy
• Take accurate measurements for fitting eyeglasses, including pupillary distance and fitting heights
• Adjust and repair eyewear as needed
• Educated patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance
• Utilize EHR systems for patient record management and appointment scheduling
• Process orders for eyegalsses
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and data protection
• Access insurance benefits for patients.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an Optician is required
• Proficiency in using computers and EHR
• Knowledge of insurances
• Understanding billing, coding, and records management is desirable
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy
• Ability to provide excellent customer service
