Building Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Building Engineer to join our team and oversee the maintenance and operation of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general construction, building systems, and tenant relations, ensuring that all building systems are safe, efficient, and properly maintained.

This position plays a key role in maintaining the overall functionality, comfort, and appearance of the property while coordinating with contractors, vendors, and tenants to resolve issues promptly and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities, identifying and addressing potential issues before they become major problems.
• Manage and coordinate work performed by outside contractors and vendors.
• Maintain and repair general building components, including doors, walls, ceilings, flooring, and finishes.
• Perform basic carpentry, painting, and general repair work as needed.
• Monitor and troubleshoot elevator systems and coordinate service with elevator contractors.
• Maintain and support building access systems, including keyless entry and security hardware.
• Utilize building maintenance software to record work orders, track maintenance activities, and manage preventive maintenance schedules.
• Support energy conservation and efficiency initiatives throughout the building.
• Respond promptly to tenant maintenance requests and ensure positive tenant relations through professional communication and service.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, building code, and regulatory requirements.

• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities engineering, or a related trade.
• Technical Skills:
• • General construction, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Basic carpentry and painting skills.
  • Familiarity with elevator system operations and maintenance coordination.
  • Knowledge of keyless entry and access control systems.
  • Experience using computerized building maintenance management systems (CMMS).

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills when interacting with tenants and vendors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities engineering, or a related trade.
