Responsibilities
- Submit and verify insurance claims to ensure timely reimbursements
- Maintain coding accuracy according to industry standards
- Enter and update patient data accurately in billing systems
- Generate and manage billing invoices for patients and insurers
- Monitor compliance with healthcare billing regulations
- Manage claim denial processes and resubmit appeals as needed
- Handle patient billing queries and provide clear communication
- Maintain detailed patient and billing records
- Prepare reports and assist with audit preparations
- Analyze billing data to identify discrepancies or improvements
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, insurers, and patients
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience in medical billing and coding
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Familiarity with billing software applications
