Account Manager (Sales Engineer)

Job Title: Account Manager/ Sales Engineer

SUMMARY: Manufacturing company in Lexington, KY. Fabricates polyethylene and polyurethane foams for large industrial establishments. The Account Manager/Sales Engineer is responsible for providing support and service to existing customers, acting as a liaison between the customer and sales engineers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains a high level of service to all accounts through email or phone contact with the

customer’s key representatives. Professionally represents our company by being enthusiastic, cooperative, organized, and well prepared.

Responds timely to customer telephone or written inquiries regarding status of orders, placement of orders for standard products and/or services, complaints (including returns), shortages and adjustments, and requests for literature or information on materials or processes. Reviews purchases orders for compliance to quote and customer policies and standards. Resolves discrepancies with customer or sales. Documents any exceptions to purchase order. Enters and updates customer orders in Global Shop software.

Communicates regularly with Plant Manager and production supervisors regarding order status and issues that could affect quality or delivery. Processes Return Authorizations.

Prepares and maintains all job-related forms, contracts, folders and/or work orders.

Solicits new or additional sales from existing customer(s) who are placing orders or calling to

inquire about the status of their order. Also contacts inactive customers to inquire about their

product needs and to determine the reason for the inactivity. Takes the opportunity to ask pertinent questions to develop leads when answering inquiries about our products and capabilities. Relays that information to the Sales Manager. Receives and logs customer complaints concerning billing, quality, tolerances, specifications, or delivered condition of product and refers complaints to the appropriate departments for

investigation. Partners with Sales Engineers and Estimators to ensure that customer needs are met and pricing is correct and up to date.

Compiles statistics and prepares various reports for management. Works with customers’ technical and purchasing representatives to assess their packaging needs, requirements, specifications and priorities.

Must learn and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the industry; becoming familiar with all

company products and manufacturing capabilities. Must become knowledgeable of competitor’s products to maintain competitive status in the

marketplace. Conveys accurate and complete quote, potential project and order information to estimating, engineering, maintenance, quality, shipping, and production personnel by following standard operating procedures. Works with all levels of our company to resolve all customer issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction. Performs duties in accordance with all applicable company and quality system procedures.
