Jr. Estimator

The Jr. Estimator plays a crucial role within a small estimating team, supporting cost estimation and bid preparation for a variety of commercial, residential, and mixed-type projects. Reporting to the Senior Estimator, this position involves hands-on training and opportunities to lead specific estimating tasks, primarily focused on exterior stucco, exterior restorations, painting, framing, and drywall. The role requires local travel and close collaboration with vendors and project teams to ensure accurate budget tracking and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost estimation for diverse construction projects
• Prepare competitive bids and gather data for project proposals
• Liaise with vendors to obtain pricing and manage subcontract sales
• Maintain thorough project documentation and generate detailed reports
• Assess risks and track budgets throughout project lifecycles
• Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure accurate estimates
• Lead select estimating tasks under supervision and receive hands-on training

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in construction estimating

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• Experience with construction estimating software
• Proficient in blueprint reading and cost analysis
• Skilled in quantity takeoff and Microsoft Excel
• Project management capabilities
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
