Project Engineer

Cladtec is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Longview, Texas. This is a hands-on role that combines engineering, design, estimating, and project coordination for custom fabricated components and specialized equipment.

The Project Engineer will work with projects from the initial customer request through estimating, design, fabrication, and installation. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys both the technical design side of engineering and the practical side of seeing a project move from quote to finished product.

What You'll Do:

• Review customer specifications, blueprints, drawings, and other project documentation to identify requirements and clarify technical details.
• Prepare cost and material estimates and job quotes, including labor, materials, production requirements, outside services, and fabrication methods.
• Develop and issue design, installation, shop, and detail drawings for fabrication and field use.
• Review estimated versus actual job costs to support project cost control and improve future estimating accuracy.
• Obtain and evaluate quotes from outside vendors for materials, services, and processes.
• Work closely with Manufacturing to confirm design feasibility, fabrication methods, capacity, production timelines, and cost assumptions.
• Support new product development and testing based on customer and project requirements.
• Coordinate project submittals, drawing reviews, and project timelines.
• Perform field work as needed, including obtaining measurements, verifying site conditions, overseeing installation, and working directly with customers.
• Maintain project documentation and follow company safety and quality requirements throughout each project.

This position includes a mix of office, shop floor, and project-site work, with approximately 15% domestic and international travel.
