Job Description

Central Coast Security is seeking reliable, professional, and responsible Security Guards to join our team. Security Guards are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, residents, employees, guests, and properties.

This position requires strong communication skills, good judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to remain professional in a variety of situations. Depending on the assigned location, duties may include access control, gatehouse operations, foot or vehicle patrols, monitoring property activity, assisting residents and visitors, and documenting incidents.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to assigned properties.
• Verify residents, visitors, vendors, contractors, and authorized personnel when required.
• Conduct regular foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, property damage, or rule violations.
• Respond professionally to incidents, complaints, alarms, and other security-related situations.
• Maintain accurate daily activity logs and incident reports.
• Follow site-specific procedures, post orders, and company policies.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, residents, clients, emergency personnel, and other security staff.
• Assist with traffic and vehicle access when required.
• Monitor gates, entrances, cameras, and other security equipment as assigned.
• Contact law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical services, or supervisors when appropriate.
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while on duty.
• Protect confidential information regarding clients, residents, and security operations.
• Remain alert and attentive throughout the entire assigned shift.
• Perform additional security-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to report to scheduled shifts consistently.
• Must demonstrate professional communication and customer service skills.
• Must be able to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to remain calm and make reasonable decisions during stressful situations.
• Must be able to write clear and accurate reports.
• Must have reliable transportation to assigned job sites.
• Must meet all applicable requirements to work as a security guard in California.
• A valid California Guard Card is preferred or required depending on the position.
• Previous security, customer service, military, law enforcement, or related experience is preferred but not required for all positions.

Physical Requirements

Depending on the assigned post, employees may be required to:

• Sit or stand for extended periods.
• Walk throughout residential or commercial properties.
• Enter and exit vehicles repeatedly.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Use computers, phones, radios, gate systems, and other security equipment.
• Maintain sufficient mobility and awareness to perform patrol and security duties safely.

Schedule

Central Coast Security operates multiple shifts, including:

• Day shifts
• Evening shifts
• Overnight shifts
• Weekends
• Holidays

Schedule and work location may vary depending on the assigned post and company needs.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Security Guard or in a similar position is required
MUST have a clean driving record
High school diploma/GED
Strong understanding of public safety and security procedures
Excellent written communication skills and report writing ability
Ability to operate surveillance equipment
High level of integrity and professionalism
Attention to detail and strong observational skills
Ability to work without direct supervision
