DIESEL MECHANIC NEEDED - IMMEDIATE HIRE

We are looking to hire a Diesel Mechanic at our Rantoul location.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Job description:

Our Diesel Technicians are responsible for the assembly, set-up, maintenance, and repair of all types of equipment to ensure they operate safely and at optimum efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all company safety and maintenance policies; including but not limited to the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practice
• Diagnose cause of most malfunctions and perform repairs per OEM guidelines
• Doing preventative maintenance repairs—like replacing or rotating tires—and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
• Understand and follow safety procedures.
• Perform projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or its equivalent preferred. Vocational school or other welding training preferred.
• 3 years of related experience required.
• Ability to weld, fabricate, and repair a variety of metal work.
• Knowledge of tools and methods of the welding trade.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and technical manuals.
• Ability to perform minor repair and maintenance on a variety of diesel-powered equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions; function effectively as part of a team; ability to work under pressure; communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and the public.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, take initiative, and problem solve while maintaining attention to detail.
