Dental Hygienist
Job Description
The Dental Hygienist plays a crucial role in maintaining patient oral health through preventive care and education. Working individually yet collaboratively reporting to the dentist, the hygienist assesses patients, cleans teeth, performs X-rays, and provides periodontal therapy while ensuring strict infection control and accurate patient records. This role demands a thorough understanding of dental hygiene practices and the ability to work independently within a dental care team environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' oral health and identify issues
- Perform thorough teeth cleaning and polishing
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care
- Conduct dental X-ray imaging as required
- Provide periodontal therapy and treatment
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Ensure infection control and sterilize dental equipment
- Prepare patients for dental procedures
- Collaborate with the dentist regarding patient care
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in dental hygiene
- Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license
