Job Description
PURPOSE
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in polishing the panned candy for further processing, storage or shipment by performing the following duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspects products prior to polishing to ensure product is properly coated
Gets raw materials for mixing polish
Mixes & weighs out dry ingredients for recipes
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
Recommends measures to improve production, equipment performance, and quality of product
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of Dept. or work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Loads & unloads pans
Scrape pans between products or as needed
Performs other routine polishing room duties
Verifies correct product on work orders/rack sheets
Tracking cards are to be used in an emergency situation such as CMS stops working
Scrape & mop floors at end of each shift
QUALIFICATIONS

Must be reliable and dependable. Report to workstation at scheduled start time ready to work finish when scheduled unless ok’d by mgmt.
Must have good communication skills and the ability to work with others
Must be able to read and follow formulas, schedules and various temperature and control panels.
Must have good grooming habits, as well as good clean work habits.
Should be mechanically inclined, and able to make good use of various safety guards and practices when using equipment.
Must be able to develop good organizational skills as to allow for timely production flow and filling orders.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift 30-55lbs continuously throughout the day.
Employee must be able to lift up to 2500lbs in an 8 hours shift.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The above listed description and qualifications are representative of specific primary duties as they relate to a Polisher. Workloads may vary from time to time. The General Manager may reassign workers as the need arises. As we are a food plant, sanitation will be everyone’s secondary responsibility.
